Restoring a Disabled iPhone. If your iPhone has been disabled due to incorrect passcode attempts, you’ll need to restore it using iTunes or Finder. Here’s how:
1. Connect to iTunes or Finder #
- Connect your iPhone to your computer using a USB cable.
- Open iTunes (or Finder on macOS Catalina or later).
2. Put Your iPhone in Recovery Mode #
- Follow the specific instructions for your iPhone model to enter recovery mode. This typically involves pressing and holding certain buttons.
3. Restore Your iPhone #
- iTunes (or Finder) will prompt you to restore your iPhone. Choose the option to restore from a backup if you have one. If you don’t have a backup, you’ll need to restore as a new device.
Note: Restoring your iPhone will erase all of your data, so make sure you have a recent backup. If you don’t have a backup, you’ll lose all of your data and settings.
